8 month old dog?

my dog is 8 months old and i wanna know if he is old enough to breed? at what age are they ready?
Answers:
NO.
You can't have OFA score before at least 18 months, I believe. And without that, you're looking at taking responsibility if the pups should have hip dysplasia. The new owners can sue you, because as one of the breeders, you are responsible for the genetic health of the puppies you allow your dog to create. So, get that OFA score, first and foremost. It involves hip x-rays that your vet will send off to the OFA for an evaluation.
Has he finished his Ch. at 8 months?!? Wow. Is he being specialed? Am. Ch., or Can. Ch.?
Neither male or female dog is ready for breeding at this age.
For many reasons.
A male dog is ready as soon as his testicles drop and he shows interested. But with a female it is recommended to wait at least one season before breeding.
It varies, but just because he can sire a litter doesn't mean he should. You should wait until he's at least 2 years of age, has had all genetic and health tests done, has proven himself in the show ring, is a perfect example of the breed, and has qualities to contribute to the breed. You should never breed unless it's to better the breed. If you're asking if he's old enough to breed, you probably haven't done enough research. It's a lot harder than slapping two dogs together and letting them have puppies. Do you really know everything about the breed your dog is? Do you know all the potential health problems and all genetic problems the breed is prone to? Are you breeding to help eliminate those problems and improve the breed? There are far too many unwanted puppies sitting in shelters waiting for a loving home, and there's no need for more. Every home you find for your puppy that was produced from parents who aren't a perfect example of the breed and only pet quality, is a home you rob from a sweet puppy who could possibly grow up in a shelter or foster home. Unless you're breeding to help improve the breed, please neuter your dog.
No he isn't old enough to breed. YOu need to wait until all the genetic tests have been performed and if they come back normal then at 2 years old then you can breed him.
He also has to be a good example of the breed standard. If he doesn't fit the breed standard very closely he shouldn't be bred.
