I'm looking for something to put over my rug.
I was thinking about get a plastic runner over the carpet and then getting a rug to put over the plastic runner.
I'm looking for something so it's not so much stuff on the floor, I have a litter of puppies. It's a small unused room that i'd like use just for them.

What about a large tarp? It'll be cheap and you can throw it away afterwards, then put a layer of duct-taped together piddle pads over that with a rug on top?
It sounds like a lot, but it'll actually lay flat and keep your carpet from being damaged.

Use a playpen..cheaper. Look at the thrift stores.
Go to home depot flooring and say you want a low cost solution.
They will hook you up.
Only thing that works is wee-wee pads, but you will need a lot, and have to keep replacing them, to cover an entire room rug.
Better would be to keep your pups in a room with no carpet (but indoors obviously) or crate them in a big crate with their mother until they are older.
get a hardwood floor
I would definitely cover your carpet with something plastic to keep the pee/poo from soaking into it. Then I would cover the plastic with those puppy pee pads so that you can throw them away and get rid of the mess anytime you need to.
If the waste soaks into your carpet, you'll never get the smell out.
Why not put old newspaper under them.Recycle and reuse.Just change out.If you have carpet,then get you the large piece of plastic they sell to cover things while painting.Hope this helps...
