I am going through the same thing with my lab/rottie mix! He's about 6 mos. old and he is constantly trying to chew on me AND everything else! The best advice I can give, based on my experience with two other puppies, is to be consistent. Say "NO!" firmly and redirect him. I have found that durable toys (like the Kong) are helpful, and if I put a dog treat inside, he is content for a few minutes, at least. Rottie's are pretty smart, and therefore they get bored easily. I have started taking mine for walks in the evening, and he's usually so tired afterward that he's ready for an hour or so of sleep!
Good luck, and don't worry, your persistence will pay off! Rottie's are great dogs!
He is most likely teething and the chewing is helping to massage his gums. Get him lots of chew toys. When he is knawing on you, tell him "no" or yell "ow" loud enough that it will let him know that it hurts. If he is chewing on something that he should not, take it away, tell him "no" and then give him one of his toys.
That's perfect :) Give it six more months and he will outgrow it :))
BTW, attention and play should be given on YOUR terms, not when the pup demands it.
He wants you to play with him more. Someone being eith him all day is good but he needs to play and go for walks ect. Try to set up a routine such as a game or walk or some sort of activity that you do with him at the same time everyday. That will help. Also make sure he has plenty of chew toys and that he knows he needs to chew on the toys and not things that are not his. There is a spray called "Bitter End" that usually helps stop chewing on furniture and other things they are not supposed to.
Well I had one , and it won't end , they behave like that until the age of one , and even then they want to play and like to bit not brake the skin bite , but it's a way of playing for them . I'm sure your hands are all scratched and red from him . Good luck give him allot of love and attention he he won't forget it .
Well that was my problem to he is now 11 months old. Make Chere he has a lot of toys and hides to chew on,every time he trays to bit tell him (no bit) if he still dos it turn away from him telling him no. It will take wail but it works teddy is prove
