Any idea what he could be mixed with?

I was told hes pure pom. But obviously he isn't. Hes approx. 14lbs-16lbs. When he barks, he sounds like a german shephard..

He could be a pure pom, but without papers from a breeder there's no way to know for sure. Even with papers, that doesn't mean that he is a "show quality" dog--only that he is purebred. Many people breed dogs that don't look like they should, so you get a lot of what show people would call "disqualifications" (too big, too long, too tall, wrong color, nose to long, hair too short, etc, etc). He's cute, though. :)
he doesn't look like a pure pom to me either, however does look like he is mixed with a similar breed, possibly a slightly larger spitz type breed.
He looks like a pom to me.
15 pounds is about adverage for poms sometimes they get larger, that's why they're sold as pets.
If anything, it could be a sheltie mix.
Maybe Papillion, but those stay small too.
I agree with KimbeeJ. Alot of breeders DO NOT breed quailty dogs. Thats why you get pups like the one you have. But he is cute. But not for breeding.
He looks like a pom. But I can see something else in there. It seems like one of his grand or great grand parents had some sheltie in them, but the signs are really thinned out. I'm not all that adversed in smaller dog breeds but I do know what a pure pom looks like and that's not it.
he looks like my neighbors dog
collie/pom
These two sites have the most likely breeds listed with photos:

Or maybe just look at these pics of some shelties, he looks alot like them:

He looks like an old style (30-40 years ago) backyard bred pom. (jeez.. that sort of ages me..)
Cute dog!!
He might well be pure pom as far as the papers go. The papers are only as good as the breeders they come from and if it is from a puppy "farm" there is no telling what went over the fence. He's a good looking dog and you will likely have some hybrid advantages in health and intellegence. I would count it as a blessing and enjoy him as an individual, not as just another pom.
He looks pom to me.
Pom and a Chihuahua
Maybe some keeshond?
