I'm looking for a good, safe place to take my dog to swim in the St. Louis area. I have taken him to swim in the Meramec River three times, but the last two times he suffered bouts of diarrhea afterwards (too much information, I'm sure). If anyone in the area knows of any good places for dog swimming, please share!

Yeah I wouldn't take my dog to the Meramec it's too dirty .
I can't think of a park that lets dogs swim in the lake but I did take my dog to the Holly Hills park and I know there is a lake and I heave seen other people with their dogs throwing balls into water and the dog going after the ball into water and no one complained about it . It's hard here in STL I sure don't know that many places that heave a sign saying no dogs in water .
Swimming is great excercise for dogs.
But if you are mainly doing it for relief from the heat, do you have access to a water hose? Our golden retriever loves to run in the sprinkler.
