Allergies to dogs...?

My Aunties has a Labradoodle which is considered non allergenic.
I have a Spanador (Cocker, Lab X).

I'm not allergic to my puppy. But I am allergic to my Aunties dog. I get itchy eyes and keep sneezing. I never have any of these symptoms with my own dog.
Is this strange? Why does this happen?
Answers:
Why would it be strange.. Labradoodles are just as full of dander as any other dog out there.. They are NOT hypoallergenic .. They are dogs, they produce dander.. Obviously more than some breeds..
Because, when you cross breed dogs, some qualities from each breed are attained. For your dog, he/she may have the hypo-allergenic gene, while your aunts dog doesn't, therefore triggering your allergies.
Your aunt's dog is also living in a different home - like the rugs and carpets and plants. The dog gets this stuff in the fur.
So you might not be allergic to the dog, but to things on the dog's fur.
Hi Wabby, All dogs are difference. Her dog my have gotten into something in the back yard that you are reacting to. Why not take a walk out in her back yard and see if anything out there causes any reaction on your part. If not you are allergic to her dog. Lol Lol

I am allergic to what is in the dogs coat, not the dog or dander. Every spring, at least one dog comes in that has been running thru fields of weeds I am allergic to. Tell your aunt to get a liquid from a pet store or online called Allerpet D. If it is the dog dander, this will calm it down during your stay.
Look, anybody could be allergic to ANYTHING under the sun INCLUDING THE SUN itself. There is nothing strange that you are NOT allergic to your dog but to your aunties'.
Allergies do not depend on surroundings, I mean, you, your mom and your bro live in the same house, eat almost the same food i.e. living in the same surrounding but it is not necessary that all of you would be allergic to a particular thing.
Being or not allergic to a thing depends on your own body constitution.
A very simple and inexpensive method to fight temporary external allergy (like visiting your aunties' place) is to keep your nostrils wet all the time. Wet your index (or any finger you are comfortable with) with water and clean your nostrils thoroughly after reaching their house. Take a small quantity of clean (and warm if possible) water on your palm, sniff it and then sneez out. Repeat this cycle 2/3 times every 15/20 minutes. also, wash your eyes. You will not be affected by the allergy. This, of course, is only a temporary method and not a permanent cure.
S_shiromani is right...but as you suffer from asthma (which very often is triggered by allergenes),you should avoid your aunt麓s dog.Don麓t get close to him!
Or do the shiromani method and ONLY inhale air through your nose.
Allergies seldom get better, and you might develop an allergy to your dog as well.
