All dogs have 100% grey wolf dna in them?

Is this true
Answers:
All dogs came from wolves. And just through intensive breeding we made them look as different as they do鈥攁ll the different breeds. But your dog is a wolf. Many of the behaviors are exactly the same, just with slight modifications. You know when you scold your dog, how it just curls up and makes itself really small? When a wolf is threatened, it tries to make itself appear as meek as possible to keep other wolves from beating up on it. You know when you take a bone away from a dog, how it growls at you and its hackles go up? Wolves who want to appear threatening also try make themselves appear larger. The hair goes up. They stand more erect. You know when you teach your dog to not go out of the yard or not go in the flower bed鈥攁nd your dog learns that for the rest of its life? It's just something it won't do? That's the same reason that wolves never attack people. Behaviorally, they just don't recognize people as anything they want to screw with. And they live their entire lives without ever trying it.
They are related to the wolf but 100% dna, NO!
No.
They don't have 100% DNA in them.
if they had 100% grey wolf dna .. they infact would be a grey wolf and not a dog
.1% maybe
It's been 1,000's of years since then.
I could be wrong, I will have to research this, it's interesting.
I believe that this is a theory but it has not yet been proved. It also depends on what you believe about evolution as well.
They are so similar, that the two can be mated, yet a domestic dog and a fox cannot. The domestic dog and the wolf are the same genus and now are considered by scientists as the same species. but the DNA code is slightly off.
If they had 100% grey wolf dna in them they would be a grey wolf. Im guessing most dogs have between 2-19% grey wolf dna in them. Hope this helped! :)
Dogs are releated to wolfs but 100% DNA not at all. If you want some good information on dogs check out some websites.
I believe the answer is that they share 99% of the same DNA, the way humans share 98% of their DNA with Chimps.
Some scientists are suggesting the dog be reclassified since it is practically genetically indistinguishable from the wolf. The wolf is Canis Lupus, the dog Canis Familiaris. They want to reclassify the dog as Canis Lupus Familiaris.
no. Look at some of the hairless breeds... the gene for hairless is dominant. Wolves do not carry a dominant hairless gene. Unless you know of some naked wolves running around!
I believe that domestic dogs descended from various species of wolf and wild dog, along with thousands of years of selective breeding. Think about it.. man was spread out all over the earth.. Im sure more than one tribe befriended the wolf/dog and domesticated him.. whatever area the tribe lived in depended on the specie of canid that he domesticated. As time progressed and humans began to travel and trade, some of these dogs were probably bred with each other, whether by purpose, or because thats what dogs do. No one really knows for sure, but that's my theory.
No all dogs do not have grey wolf dna. No not all dogs descend from wolves. They do descend from wild dogs but not nec. grey wolves.
